Undo Reconciliation in QuickBooks for Mac

If you cannot locate discrepancies when reconciling an account, you can undo your last reconciliation and start again:

  1. Select the Banking menu and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Double-click the affected account to open its register.
  3. Locate a transaction in the register that appears on the last bank statement and click the "cleared" checkmark to remove it.
  4. Click Record.
  5. Click Yes when you receive the Transaction Cleared message.
  6. Repeat steps 3 through 5 for all transactions on the last statement.

have been using quickbooks for windows for years--recently have switch to Mac--have reconciled last month no problem--when trying to reconcile this month it will not show me checks and payments before January 19---I have changed the date on the reconcilliation page to go from 1-01-10 to 1-31-10 but nothing changes--I can't clear the checks prior to 1-19-10

Hi Claire,

The only resolution is Undo the reconciliation and redo for the 2 months.

Feel free to contact us anytime.

Thanks

I have a friend that has Quickbook for her PC. She has a tab at option to 'Undo Last Reconciliation.' Why is there not that option for a Mac? I now have to manually do it one by one.

Hello Margie,

Sorry to hear that, but it is a limitation in QuickBooks Mac.

But you can always install QuickBooks for Windows on your Mac if you have both Windows and Apple Operation System (OS) on your Mac.

Thanks,
Shakti
