The online banking feature in QuickBooks will only work with US dollar accounts. Anyone with the preference for multiple currencies on will get informational dialogs informing them of this before starting online banking set up or the Add Transactions to QuickBooks workflow. In the Add Transactions to QuickBooks window, open bills, undeposited funds, and open invoices can be displayed to the user. These transactions will not be filtered for by currency for only US dollar transactions but if a user tries to link a downloaded transcation of US dollar to a transaction in QuickBooks of a different currency type, they will be shown an error message. Similarly, each QuickBooks payee will be associated with a currency. The Add Transactions to QuickBooks window will not filter for only payees with US dollar but if users select payees of other currency types, they will receive an error.
In order to link a downloaded transaction to an open bill in QuickBooks, you will have to go to the "Not a [transaction type]?" link in the upper right hand corner of a downloaded expense and select the option to pay bills in QuickBooks. Then you will have to select a vendor in order to see open bills for that vendor to select which to pay with the downloaded transaction.
Matched transactions cannot be confirmed individually if the system date format is "yy/MM/dd" or "yyyy-MM-dd" or "dd-MMM-yy". Finish Later can batch save these matched transactions.
There are several add-on programs that may be able to convert a file your bank does offer, into a file that QuickBooks will recognize. Check out the QuickBooks Solution Marketplace for all Intuit approved third party programs.
There may be an outdated option listed instead, or QuickBooks Bill Pay may need to be added to the financial institution list.
